The BSPA has confirmed “great progress” has been made on fixed race nights after their annual meeting in Tenerife ended on Sunday.

The British governing body is set to release a full update on Monday, but confirmed in a tweet that there will be eight SGB Premiership teams, with no changes to the existing line up expected.

They also revealed one side will be joining the Championship, believed to be Lakeside, who have made no secret of their ambition to climb up from the National League in recent weeks.

The tweet confirmed point limits for the top two leagues have been agreed, and suggested fan views on the possible return of the tactical substitute rule had been listened to, along with comments on starting regulations.

Check back tomorrow for more news.
